   What classes does UHSSL offer?

   The Sugar Land campus offers only junior, senior and master's level courses for degrees that are sponsored at the center. A list of all the degrees and their home universities can be found on here.

2. How are classes taught?

   How are classes taught?

   Classes are taught using a variety of methods.
   A. Face-to-Face (F2F) - The instructor and students interact in a classroom.
   B. Instructional Television on-site (ITV) - Provides for two-way audio and video conferencing between Sugar Land students, the instructor, and students at other locations.
   C. Tape Purchase - Students purchase videotapes or DVDs for home viewing.
   D. KUHT-TV (Channel 8, PBS) - Students view their classes at home.
   E. Online - Students interact with their instructor and other students on their computers at home or in our computer lab.

3. When are classes offered?

   When are classes offered?

   Classes are offered days and evenings during the week and during the day on Saturdays. Additional classes are on videotape, broadcast TV, and online. Students can choose the time and day they want to attend these classes.

4. When can a student transfer to UHSSL?

   When can a student transfer to UHSSL?

   Many students complete the first two years of their college requirements before transfering to UHSSL. Students with 30 or more semester credit hours may be eligible for concurrent enrollment, if they meet admission requirements and are concurrently enrolled in another college or university. The classes taught at UHSSL are junior, senior, and graduate courses.

5. How would a student attending another university take a summer course?

   How would a student attending another university take a summer course?

   Students wanting to take a summer course in Sugar Land should answer YES, to all of the following statements in order to attend a class in Sugar Land.
   A. I need a junior level class, 3000 level or above.
   B. I need a course that is being offered in Sugar Land and have determined that it is being taught in Sugar Land. *
   C. I have the prerequisites for the course I want to take in Sugar Land.
   D. I have talked with the advisor from the university that is sponsoring the class I want to take in Sugar Land. (University of Houston, UH-Clear Lake or UH-Victoria). **
   E. I have applied to the university sponsoring the class I want to take in Sugar Land (University of Houston, UH-Clear Lake or UH-Victoria).

   * The course listings are broken down by the four home universities. Students should look through all four schedules to see the complete listing of classes in Sugar Land.

   ** UH System Sugar Land is a teaching center, not an independent university, so all classes are sponsored. Academic advisement appointments can be made by calling 281.275.3340.
